Sadly we announce the passing of Paula Dankowych, nee Prysiazna, on December 19, 2017 at the age of 98. Dearly beloved wife of John (predeceased), loved and fondly remembered mother of Mary (Bill predeceased), Bohdan (Annie), John (Roma) and Mike predeceased (Darka), loved by grandchildren (Billy, Yvonne, Christine, Terry, Mark, Alya, Michael), great-grandchildren (Kelsey, Matthew and Gabriel), beloved sister of Emily (predeceased), nieces Darka, Irene and Donna, and relatives and friends in Canada, USA and Ukraine. Paula was born on June 6th, 1919 in the village of Medvedivtsi in Ukraine and emigrated to Canada in 1948. Paula married John and lived in Toronto on Bellwoods Avenue and then in 1950 moved to a farm near Schomberg, Ontario. From 1960 until 1974 the family also resided in Toronto during the school year. After her husband and mother (Fevronia) passed away (1977), Paula moved back to Toronto in 1983. She spent her last year at the Ukrainian Canadian Care Centre. You are invited to celebrate Paula’s life and love with us. Visitation at the NEWEDIUK FUNERAL HOME, KIPLING CHAPEL, 2058 Kipling Avenue, Toronto (North of Rexdale Blvd.), on Wednesday, December 27, 2017 from 6-9 pm. Panakhyda/Service at 7 pm. Divine Liturgy to be celebrated from Holy Protection of the Mother of God at 30 Leeds Street, Toronto, on Thursday, December 28th, 2017, at 11 am. The family is collecting donations for the Orphans of Ukrainian Soldiers Fund called Open Your Heart.
