Peacefully at Christie Gardens, following a sudden illness, surrounded by her children and grandchildren on Friday, September 22, 2017 in her 98th year. Predeceased by her loving husband Forbes and her son George. Beloved mother of Janice Harris (David Nagy), Forbes Kerr (Gay) and Lori Stanyon. Cherished grandmother of Gwen, George, Heather, Kim, Jennifer, Peter, Stephanie, Scott, Thomas, Christine and Michael. Dear great-grandmother to 10 great grandchildren. She will be missed by many nieces, nephews and friends. Claire was born in Nova Scotia and moved to Toronto over 70 years ago. She spent more than 57 of those years in Rexdale, where she retired from the Canadian Airlines. Claire loved to travel, and with her husband by her side, she traveled all over the world until she was well into her 80’s. The family would like to thank all the staff at Christie Gardens who lovingly cared for Claire in her last 6 years. Friends will be received at NEWEDIUK FUNERAL HOME, KIPLING CHAPEL, 2058 Kipling Avenue (North of Rexdale Boulevard), on Wednesday, September 27, 2017 from 9 - 10 a.m., followed by a Memorial Mass at St. Benedict Church, 2194 Kipling Avenue, at 10:30 a.m. Interment to follow at Queen of Heaven Cemetery.
