The Memorial Candle Program has been designed to help offset the costs associated with the hosting this Tribute Website in perpetuity. Through the lighting of a memorial candle, your thoughtful gesture will be recorded in the Book of Memories and the proceeds will go directly towards helping ensure that the family and friends of George Town can continue to memorialize, re-visit, interact with each other and enhance this tribute for future generations.

As a volunteer at the Salvation Army Thrift Store I met George. While I sorted books we talked of many things in our lives. Also about our departed spouses and how we were coping. At this time I had buried two (1979 and 2011). George brought me a picture of late wife Maria. he loved and missed her so much. He was so proud at the news that he would soon become a Grandpa. In the Thrift Store he made both the staff, volunteers and customers smile and laugh, he had a way that was certainly a gift at making people around him feel at ease. I was sorry he left the store but understood his desire to help others with grief counseling. Our paths never crossed again. I miss him and Cherish the good memories. My Commiserations to all his family. May You REST IN PEACE my friend.
