Through the lighting of a memorial candle, your thoughtful gesture will be recorded in the Book of Memories and the proceeds will go directly towards helping ensure that the family and friends of Erla Beatrice Wilson can continue to memorialize, re-visit, interact with each other and enhance this tribute for future generations.

WILSON, Erla (née Watson) -
Registered Nurse (Oshawa General class of '48), pioneer & founder of the Ajax-Pickering-Whitby Nursery School for Retarded Children (1970) and Infant Stimulation Program (1977), writer, quilter & prayer warrior. Erla left peacefully to meet her Lord & Savior on Wednesday, November 21st, 2018. Predeceased by her parents Ross & Irene Watson (née Carruthers), brothers Clifford & Donald Watson, husband Dudley Wilson (Chick), daughter Valerie & her daughter Elizabeth Barry. Mom was warm, kind & caring to everyone she met and will be dearly missed by her son Daniel (wife Donna), daughter Faye (husband Randy), son Ross (wife Kathy), grandchildren: Sam Barry (wife Ashley), Jenna and Christian Fretz and great-grandchildren: Brody & Hudson Fretz, and Logan & Marlie Barry. Special thanks to the wonderful staff at Hillsdale Terraces who were her extended family, always providing her compassionate & loving care. Family & friends will be received at the W.C. TOWN FUNERAL CHAPEL, 110 Dundas Street East, Whitby, (905) 668-3410, on Saturday, December 8th from 7-9pm, and on Sunday, December 9th from 1pm until the time of service at 2pm at Whitby Baptist Church, 411 Gilbert Street East, Whitby. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the Whitby Baptist Church - Food Bank, 411 Gilbert Street East, Whitby Ontario L1N 1R6.
