Obituary for Joseph Paul Toneguzzo

Joseph Paul Toneguzzo
JOSEPH TONEGUZZO
November 19, 1953 - March 1, 2018

It is with deep sadness that we announce the sudden passing of Joseph Toneguzzo, while on vacation in Naples, Florida, at the age of 64. He is survived by his wife of 30 years Anne, his sons Mark (Paisley) and Steven (Tara), his loving parents Giovanni and Pierina, his sister Anna (Ken), nephews Sacha and John, and nieces Kaisa and Teia. He will be fondly remembered by aunts, uncles and cousins in Canada and Italy, and as a brother-in-law to the Rossi family of Niagara Falls.

Joe enjoyed a distinguished career as a professional engineer at Ontario Hydro, Hydro One, the Ontario Power Authority, and the Independent Electric System Operator. Joseph travelled to France, Japan, and Greece as Canada’s representative at CIGRE, the International Council on Large Electric Systems.

Joe had a life-long love of tennis, which he played with his friends Doug and Yury. Joseph enjoyed travelling to Florida with his wife to visit his cousin Paul (Leslie). Joe lived his life for his family, seldom thinking of himself. He was a model father and husband, whose work ethic and love of fitness were known to everyone in his life. His memory will be carried forward by everyone who knew him.

Resting at NEWEDIUK FUNERAL HOME, KIPLING CHAPEL, 2058 Kipling Avenue (North of Rexdale Boulevard), Toronto, on Thursday March 8, 2018 from 1-4 p.m., followed by prayers in the chapel. Funeral Mass will be celebrated at Our Lady of the Scapular Parish, 6557 Regional Road 57, Niagara Falls, on Friday, March 9, 2018 at 1 p.m. Interment to follow at Fairview Cemetery, Niagara Falls. In lieu of flowers, donations to Philpott Children’s Tennis Fund would be appreciated. Online condolences at newediukfuneralhome.com
