With sadness, we announce the passing of John Lonc on February 2, 2018. He was in his 87th year. Loving husband of Helen (d. 2007) for 50 years. John will be greatly missed by his children: Richard, Kathy (Mike Stavroff), and Dianne (Chris Mann) and his grandchildren: Matthew, Natalie, Morgan, Richard, Eddie and Steven. John loved family above all. John spent 27 years teaching at Burnhamthorpe C.I., both day and night school. John also spent many years at his shop in Orangeville “making a buck” and educating anyone who would listen, through his many stories and anecdotes about politics, business and life in general. John was quick with a joke and loved to share his unique wisdom for the benefit of those around him. He was a dreamer and a large scale collector of materials for his many projects. John passed quickly and peacefully at home, in the exact way he wished…surrounded by his children. John’s gifts of passion, laughter, hard work, and leadership will be missed by many. Resting at the NEWEDIUK FUNERAL HOME, KIPLING CHAPEL, 2058 Kipling Avenue, Toronto (North of Rexdale Blvd.), on Monday from 7 p.m.-9 p.m. Funeral Service will be celebrated on Tuesday, February 6, 2018 in the funeral home chapel at 12 p.m. Interment Glenview Memorial Gardens.
