Passed away peacefully and surrounded by his family on Saturday, September 2nd 2017 in his 83rd year. Gerard will be dearly missed by his beloved wife Ruth (nee Smith) of 58 years. Loving father to Annmarie (Mark) and John (Cynthia). Cherished Papa to Tim and Mary Frances. Predeceased by his parents John and Florence "Loley" and sister Sheila Spade (Sam).
Gerard was born in Little Bras D'or, Nova Scotia and as a young man, moved to Toronto where he worked for Bell Canada for over 40 years. He was a quiet and strong man who lived a life of faith and love of family. A heartfelt thank you to staff at Wesburn Manor Etobicoke for their wonderful care. Visitation will take place at NEWEDIUK FUNERAL HOME, KIPLING CHAPEL, 2058 Kipling Avenue (North of Rexdale Blvd), on Wednesday, September 6, 2017 from 2-4pm and 7-9pm. Funeral Mass to held on Thursday, September 7, 2017 at 10:00am from St. Benedict Catholic Church, 2194 Kipling Avenue.
