Peacefully on August 22, 2017, aged 86, beloved and loving husband and best friend of Jane (Pilat) for 60 years. Predeceased by his parents, the late Joseph and Josephine Jasinski of Montreal, whom he adored. Loving and loved father of son Ronald and his wife Ann Munro, and daughter Wanda and her husband Mark Cowie. Loving and proud grandfather and “Dziadziu” to Matthew, Michael, Alexandra, and Madison Cowie, and Kensington and Benton Jasinski. Survived by cherished sister Regina (Zawilinski) of Montreal, brother-in-law to Clementine and Walter Banas, Uncle to Christine Zawilinski, Walter and Linda Banas, and Roseann Banas-Langlois. He leaves behind many cousins here, in the United States and Poland. Rene was devoted to Federal and Quebec politics and voluntary community social work for many years. He was founder and President of the Quebec Polish Liberal Association; a Member of the Executive Council and General Council of the Quebec founding member of the General Council of the Quebec Wing of the Liberal Party of Canada. Former president of the Ethnic Groups Commission of the Quebec Liberal Party. Founder and Chairman of the Executive Building Committee of the present Polish Home of the Aged in Montreal (Canadian Polish Welfare Institute Inc.). Past president of Applied Technology Ventures Canada Ltd., and CEO of Documentor International Corporation. During a distinguished three decade career with Addressograph Multigraph of Canada Ltd. (AM) in Montreal, Vancouver and Toronto Head Office he held several senior management positions, and was appointed Life Member of its “100 Club” by the Board of Directors. A private family service will honour his life, accomplishments, and loving good nature.
