It is with heavy hearts and great sadness we announce the passing of Lamkje van Ginhoven on July 9th 2017 in her 92nd year. She was born in Holland on August 16th 1925, the third of twelve children to Jan and Getje Dykstra. Loving wife to her husband Peter of 69 years. Cherished and loving mother of Hubert (Linda) van Ginhoven, John (Mary) (the late Wilma) van Ginhoven, the late Carol (Bob) McCelland, Gay (Jake) Lootsma and Yolanda (Jim) Lloyd. Proud Oma of Steve (Shelley), Mike (Donna), Michael (Megan), Tracy (Randy), Julie, Alison, Crystal (Phil), Lisa (Juan), Sharon (John), John, Andrea (Graham), Bryan (Laura), Donna (Brandon) and Melissa. Lamkje cherished her 17 great-grandchildren. She will be dearly missed and fondly remembered by her extended family. Special thanks to the staff of Sunnycrest Nursing Home for their compassion, respect and care given to our Mom. Visitation will be held at W.C. TOWN FUNERAL CHAPEL, 110 Dundas Street East, Whitby, on Thursday, July 13th 2017 from 5 – 8pm. A Celebration of Lamkje’s Life will be held at Hebron Christian Reformed Church, 4240 Anderson Street, Whitby on Friday, July 14th 2017 at 1pm. Private Family Interment at Pine Grove Cemetery, Port Perry. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to Glen Hill Terrace Long Term Care Building Fund and condolences may be expressed online at www.wctownfuneralchapel.com.
